UKIST medical education package roll out

Autumn has been busy for our volunteer team, promoting our medical education module and the wider work of the charity.

We were delighted that our umbrella network ISAN (the infantile spasms action network) were able to offer sponsorship for our trustee Louisa to travel to the USA for their annual meeting and present a workshop on the learning outcomes from developing our infantile spasms medical education package, to encourage organisations there to collaborate to share our materials or develop their own.

At the beginning of October UKIST trustees Amy, Charlotte and Jake then attended the PIER (Paediatric Innovation, Education and Research Network) Conference in Southampton – delivering a workshop on how to recognise, diagnose and treat Infantile Spasms.

Amy and Charlotte represented the charity with a stand at the RCGP conference (Royal College of General Practitioners) at the SEC in Glasgow, delivering our CPD approved medical education on Infantile Spasms to many of the delegates, helping to achieve one of the charity’s core aims of raising awareness of IS in primary care.
