UKIST are delighted to announce that we have been able to award a series of grants totalling £3551 to help seven families with equipment or therapies for their children affected by infantile spasms. This is the second round of grants awarded in 2018, and one of our previous recipients had this to say about how the grant has helped her family;
“Dear UKIST,
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for funding the Firefly Goto Postural seat. My son has IS from 5 months old with no spasm control at the age of 2.5. He still struggles to sit or to hold his head.
The funding made our lives different and closer to “normal”. My son can do his therapies sitting up with no problem, he can travel with us, he can sit with us at the table and we all enjoy that moment! Again, huge thank you from our family.”
